Toledo Glass Pavillion-Posted: March 30, 2011
Our primary research of the building prepared us for the on-site evaluation. Most suprising was how the floor plan in the text books compared with the three-dimensional materialization of the building. From the exterior, it was almost impossible to judge the complexities of the interior spaces, despite its transparency. Even after sketching a floor plan before the visit, it was difficult to replicate the plan relying only on three-dimensional visual cues and an on-site spatial evaulation. All in all, the exterior of the building was as expected from pictures in text books, but the interior spaces could only be experienced first hand.
