3D meets 2D

So upon first glance, these two images look like your typical impressionist painting, but really there’s a twist. I hope you can try to guess it before you can see the surprise below. To attempt to make some kind of boundary, I’ll talk a little about the artist. Her name is Alexa Meade and she’s a 27-year old Washington-based artist. Okay I think that’s enough… and now for the surprise!





Alexa paints directly on strangers to “perceptually compress three dimensional space into a two dimensional plane.” I think it’s incredible and could possibly be related to architecture. I’m reminded of some of the images in Pablo’s photo bomb where two dimensional images are projected into a three dimensional space. Anyway, that’s enough rambling for me. Enjoy!
